Work Experience Certificate Log Books
Connexions West of England has produced two Work Experience Log Books that schools and other organisations can use with mainstream and students with special needs whilst on work experience placements. Both log books lead to the same certificate endorsed by Connexions West of England and the Learning and Skills Council West of England.
The log books aim:
- to take students through the 'plan, do and review' process
- to identify types and aspects of work that interest students
- to encourage students to assess their key skills and qualities
- to help students write an action plan to improve their skills and qualities
- to help students review what they have learned and achieved
Work Experience Certificate Log Book (A5)
This Log Book is designed for mainstream schools. Teachers, employers and Connexions Personal Advisors were involved in its design. It is now used by approximately 70 schools/organisations across the four Unitary Authorities.
Work Experience Certificate Log Book Plus (A4)
This Log Book was designed in response to requests from staff in Special Schools who wanted a log book more suited to the needs of their students. So there is less text and more graphics to make it accessible to these students. It is used in approximately 40 schools/organisations across the four Unitary Authorities. Many mainstream schools are using it alongside the Work Experience Certificate Log Book for their students who find the format more accessible.
