MATTHEW HULL'S DIARY OF HIS WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE FILTON OFFICE

My name is Matthew Hull and I have been on work experience from Patchway High school at Connexions WofEngland in Filton for the past week and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have got to know almost everybody who works here as they have talked to me a lot and helped me out if I am stuck with or on something. I was welcomed here as soon as I walked in by Rebecca and Lyn. They have been really kind to me and have made me feel like I've known them for years.

I would recommend that young people contact Connexions as they have helped me and I now have some idea of what I wish to be when I leave school. There are also lots of fun things to do whilst at Connexions. I have been on work experience here for the last 5 days. I have been able to help contribute to the work load here, for example I have done some laminating for Lyn whilst she was at a school talking to and helping young people who are just or have already left school about their future plans. I have seen young people between ages 15-19 years of age come in and have left with a breed of confidence about their careers as they have all spoken to someone in the building... I feel the advisors are happy as well because they enjoy helping people progress in their life and their careers. To be honest there isn't a part of the time when I am here that I don't enjoy because I am made to feel welcome every morning I come in.

I have had a great time and would recommend Connexions to anybody who isn't sure on how they want their career to pan out. I intend to use Connexions for advice when I leave school so why shouldn't anybody else.
